Natural Remedies for Panic Attacks

Panic attack is sudden psychological reaction of a body to an unwanted situation. These attacks are temporary initially, and may last from a couple of minutes to half an hour.

Panic attack shows common symptoms like, dizziness, numbness in hands, headaches, palpitation, raised heartbeat, trouble in breathing, stomach pain, etc. A serious panic attack may show symptoms like, nausea and vomiting, blurred vision, weakness, exhaustion, chest pains, fear of dying, etc.

You need to avoid caffeine, alcohol and other stimulants in your diet, such as high sugar foods, because these can help keep you from experiencing as many attacks. Cut back on artificial sweeteners and eat plenty of green, leafy vegetables. Plenty of Vitamin B6, calcium and magnesium can strengthen the central nervous system and keep the body detoxified, which decreases the chances of a panic attack.

Exercise is another great natural treatment for panic attacks. Many people do not get the recommended amount of exercise that they should do each day. This can lead to many problems as exercise has many health benefits, including releasing a feel good hormone. These feel good hormones relax you and help you to feel less anxious. So by taking part in at least 30 minutes exercise per day, you can successfully help to control the symptoms of your panic attacks.

Eat a healthy diet. The food that you eat plays a vital role on your physical and mental health. If you are physically and mentally healthy, you can function well and you are capable of controlling your mind and body to prevent panic attacks. Eat a well balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

When you're suffering from these kinds of attacks, you may think that sitting down and dealing with it is best for you. However, it's the last thing you should be doing. Instead, get up and start exercising. The adrenaline that your body makes during exercise can help you to deal with the panic attacks. You don't even have to do strenuous exercises to help out; a walk around the block does just fine.

A three-step process known to help is the use of Bach Rescue Remedy (found at health food stores), a spray bottle with an aroma that soothes the person, and controlled breathing. In the event of an attach, the victim should place a few drops of the Bach's Remedy on his or her tongue, smell the spray from the bottle, and breathe slowly and steadily.

Drink plenty of liquids. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water day is a standard health advice of many health experts. You may ask why. Water benefits are countless. It helps in hydrating your body system, improving your digestion and reducing your headaches and body pain. Milk is also good if you are to talk about liquids that genuinely improve your health.

Avoiding caffeine can keep you from being wired and hyper all the time. This means you will also need to stay clear of sodas, alcoholic beverages, caffeinated teas, and energy drinks. These liquids act to increase your heart rate, and trigger the palpitations that characterize an anxiety attack.

Perhaps the best way to deal with anxiety is to know when they are about to happen or what are the possible triggers which might result in an attack. This knowledge is one of the best natural remedies for panic attacks. Avoid those triggers; stop encouraging the thoughts which invade your mind, which bring out memories of some past trauma, etc. Remember, treating the condition of the mind is very important in treating attacks and prevent them from recurring.
